E. Gail Reese
Academic Research/ Librarian
Gail boasts forty years of experience as an information specialist in higher education, primarily as an academic/research librarian specializing in the humanities and social sciences. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, and holds master's degrees in Library and Information Sciences, as well as Nonprofit Organizations, from Case Western Reserve University.
Having recently retired, she concluded her tenure as the Associate Director for Public Engagement and Library Administration at the Kelvin Smith Library, Case Western Reserve University. In this role, she demonstrated proficiency in overseeing library personnel, conflict management, programming and events, strategic planning, budgets, and assessment.
Throughout her career, Gail exhibited expertise in leadership training, library human resources management, and served as the human resources librarian for over ten years. Her responsibilities encompassed diversity and inclusion training, recruitment, and new staff onboarding.
Gail, driven by an insatiable curiosity in a myriad of subjects, channels her interests into her research pursuits, skills, and abilities. She is a published writer and staunchly advocates for everyone to have a "Personal Librarian."
